Mass of 10C: From the Q-value of the 10B(p, n)10C reaction (1961TA12: Q0 = -4.393 ± 0.025 MeV) and the β+ end-point energy (1963BA52: Eβ+(max) = 1.865 ± 0.015 MeV), the mass excess of 10C is 15.658 ± 0.013 MeV, based on 12C ≡ 0 (1965MA54).

 1. 10C(β+)10B Qm = 3.606

The decay is complex. See 10B.

 2. 10B(p, n)10C Qm = -4.388

The ground state threshold occurs at Ep = 4.835 ± 0.025 MeV (1961TA12). A sharp rise in the cross section curve at Ep = 8.55 MeV is attributed to a state in 10C at Ex = 3.38 ± 0.03 MeV (1963EA01). This state has also been observed directly as a neutron group (Ex = 3.34 ± 0.2 MeV) at Ep = 17.2 MeV. Wide or unresolved states at Ex ≈ 5.1 MeV may also be indicated (1954AJ32). The γ-decay of the first excited state has been observed: Ex = 3.35 ± 0.02 MeV (1965SE1F). See also (1965VA23) and 11C.

 5. 12C(p, t)10C Qm = -23.319

At Ep = 155 MeV, triton groups are observed to the ground state of 10C and to excited states at 3.4 ± 0.1, 5.6 ± 0.1, (7.2 ± 0.2), and 10.2 ± 0.2 MeV. The 10.2 MeV state has a width of ≈ 1.5 MeV (1965BA17). See also (1960RA12, 1961RA1B, 1962CO17).
