15B (76AJ04)(See the Isobar Diagram for 15B)
15B has been observed in the 5.3 GeV proton bombardment of uranium (PO66H) and in a study of the
14C(9Be, 8B)15B reaction at
E(9Be) = 120 MeV (CE74C). See also (AR71). It is particle stable. Its
mass excess is calculated to be 29.89 MeV (JE75): the binding energies for
14B + n and 13B + 2n are then 1.84 and 2.82 MeV, respectively,
based on the (WA71M) masses
except for 14B [for which see "Mass of 14B" in the
"GENERAL" section of 14B]. For other calculations of the mass of
15B see (WA70E, TH72K, BA73L, TH74, BE75Q). See also (CE72, KO73F, TO73G).
