15C (81AJ01)(See Energy Level Diagrams for 15C) GENERAL: See also (76AJ04) and Table 15.1 [Table of Energy Levels] (in PDF or PS) here. Model calculations:(LI76G). Special levels:(LI76G). Astrophysical questions:(LI77D, SN78B). Special reactions involing 15C:(FE75E, KO75L, AR77B, GE78B, HE78H, KO78A, AL79N). Muon and neutrino capture and reactions:(BA77WW). Pion capture and reactions:(BA77M). Other topics:(LI76G, DA78S, BE79A).
The half-life of 15C is 2.449 ± 0.005 sec (AL79M). Transitions have been observed to 15Ng.s. and to the upper of the 5.3 MeV states in 15N which has Jπ = 1/2+. Therefore Jπ(15Cg.s.) = 1/2+ or 3/2+. Weak transitions are observed to 15N*(7.30, 8.31, 8.57, 9.05) (AL79M): see Table 15.16 (in PDF or PS). See also (76AJ04) and (RI77D, AL79M; theor.).
Observed proton groups are displayed in Table 15.2 (in PDF or PS). Angular distributions have been reported for E(7Li) = 1.7 to 20 MeV: see (76AJ04).
|g| = 0.703 ± 0.012 for 15C*(0.74) (AS80B). See also (AL76D, AL79M).
At Eα = 65 MeV 15C*(0.74, 6.74, 7.35) are strongly populated. The angular distribution to 15C*(6.74 + 7.35) is consistent with L = 4 leading to Jπ = 7/2- and 9/2- for these two states on the basis of the (2J + 1) "rule" (JA78I). See also (CE76D, JA76G). [However see Table 15.1 (in PDF or PS) for the density of states, and compare with the resolution of (JA78I).]
σγ < 1 μb (MU73I). See also (76AJ04).
Observed proton groups are displayed in Table 15.2 (in PDF or PS). See also (76AJ04).
See 16N in (77AJ02).
See (76AJ04).
