15F (86AJ01)

(See the Isobar Diagram for 15F)

GENERAL: (See also (81AJ01).) and Table 15.23 [Table of Energy Levels] (in PDF or PS) here.

See (AW82, AN83D; theor.). See the latter also for discussions of higher Z, A = 15 nuclei.

Mass of 15F:The atomic mass excess of 15F is 16.77 ± 0.13 MeV. 15F is unstable with respect to breakup into 14O + p by 1.47 MeV: see (81AJ01).

1. 12C(3He, π-)15F Qm = -141.41

This reaction is not observed at E(3He) = 235 MeV, θlab = 20°: the differential cross section (c.m.) is < / = 4 x 10-11 b (BI84B).

2. 20Ne(3He, 8Li)15F Qm = -29.83

This reaction has been studied at E(3He) = 74.5 MeV (BE78O) and 75.4 and 87.8 MeV (KE78C). Two groups are observed: the ground state [Γc.m. = 0.8 ± 0.3 MeV (KE78C), 1.2 ± 0.3 MeV (BE78O)] and a relatively strongly populated state, presumed to be the mirror of 15C*(0.74) [Jπ = 5/2+], with Ex = 1.3 ± 0.1 MeV (KE78C), 1.2 ± 0.2 MeV (BE78O) and Γc.m. = 0.5 ± 0.2 MeV (KE78C), 0.24 ± 0.03 MeV (BE78O). The differential cross section for populating 15F*(1.3) is 250 ± 20 nb/sr at 10° and E(3He) = 74.5 MeV (BE78O) and 80 ± 25 nb/sr at 9°, 87.8 MeV (KE78C). At E(3He) = 75.4 MeV, θ = 9°, the ground state is populated with 8 ± 4 nb/sr (KE78C).
