19N (87AJ02)

(See the Isobar Diagram for 19N)

A study of the 48Ca(18O, 19N)47Sc reaction leads to a mass excess of 15.872 ± 0.020 MeV for 19N (HO83C). This and earlier results [see (83AJ01)] lead to an adopted (WA85C) value of 15.873 ± 0.019 MeV. 19N is then stable with respect to decay into 18N + n by 5.32 MeV. The half-life of 19N is reported to be 0.32 ± 0.10 sec (DU86G), 0.21+0.2-0.1 sec (MU87D). See also (KL84A) and reaction 8 in 19O. Pn ~ 33% (MU87D; prelim.). In addition to the ground-state transition (NA82) report the population of states of 19N at Ex = 1.12 ± 0.04 and 1.59 ± 0.04 MeV. See also (HI84, HU86E, PI86C), (DE83U, WI83H, AN86U, GU86H) and (CU82A, AN83D, FR83G; theor.).
