19O (1959AJ76)

(See Energy Level Diagram for 19O)

GENERAL: See also Table 19.1 [Table of Energy Levels] (in PDF or PS).

Theory: See (EL55, EL55A, RE55, RE55B, RA57, RE58).

1. 19O(β-)19F Qm = 4.789

The decay is complex: see 19F, (ST58B).

2. 17O(t, p)19O Qm = 3.542

Not reported.

3. 18O(n, γ)19O Qm = 3.958

The thermal cross section is 0.21 ± 0.04 mb (HU58).

4. 18O(d, p)19O Qm = 1.731

Observed proton groups are exhibited in Table 19.2 [Proton groups from 18O(d, p)19O] (in PDF or PS). Angular distributions of p0, p1 have been measured at Ed = 0.8 MeV by (AH56B: see (PO56B)), of p2 at Ed = 3.0 MeV by (ST55C) and of p0, p1, p2 at Ed = 1.2 to 2.5 MeV by (ZI59A). The p0 and p2 groups show clear stripping distributions (ST55C, ZI59A), corresponding to ln = 2 and 0, respectively: J0 = 3/2+ or 5/2+ and J2 = 1/2+. The p1 group is almost isotropic at Ed = 2.5 MeV, indicating a small reduced width (ZI59A).

The 1.47 MeV state decays almost entirely to 19O*(0.096) in preference to the ground state, suggesting J = 1/2±, 3/2± for 19O*(0.096), with 5/2+ a less likely possibility. The lifetime of 19O*(0.096) is τm = (1.75 ± 0.3) x 10-9 sec, consistent with a slow E1 or M1 transition. If the ground state is 5/2+, the 0.096 MeV state is 3/2± or 5/2+ (ZI59A). No other proton groups are observed at Ed = 2.18 MeV, θ = 140°, corresponding to states in 19O below 2.4 MeV (TH54A).

5. 18O(t, d)19O Qm = -2.301

Not reported.

6. 18O(α, 3He)19O Qm = -16.620

Not reported.

7. 19F(n, p)19O Qm = -4.006

See 20F and (JE50D, RI55A, JO56D, PH56).

8. 19F(t, 3He)19O Qm = -4.771

Not reported.

9. 21Ne(n, 3He)19O Qm = -15.916

Not reported.

10. 22Ne(n, α)19O Qm = -5.704

Not reported.
