Mass of 9C: The recent Q0 value for the 12C(3He, 6He)9C reaction (see reaction 3) has not been published. We therefore adopt the Wapstra mass excess: 28913.1 ± 2.5 keV.
1. 9C(β+)9B --> 8Be + p Qm = 16.682
--> 5Li + α Qm = 14.81

The half-life of 9C is 126.5 ± 0.9 msec: see (74AJ01). Several groups of delayed protons are observed indicating the involvement of a number of 9B states: see Table 9.10 (in PDF or PS) (ES72). See also (RA78F).
2. 9Be(π+, π-)9C Qm = -3.959

9Cg.s. has been observed at Eπ+ = 180 MeV (BU80B). See also (NA79H).

3. 12C(3He, 6He)9C Qm = -31.574
Q0 = -31.5762 ± 0.0032: see (KA80F).

At E(3He) = 74.1 MeV a 6He group is observed to the first excited state of 9C (BE74M). Based on Qm, Ex = 2218 ± 11 keV and Γ = 100 ± 20 keV.
