CDE is the Common Desktop Environment and is available on the Sun workstations. It is more graphically oriented. A file manager can be used like in the Microsoft and Mac windowing systems. A menu bar is present on the bottom of the screen and has icons for many popular applications. Like all the windows environments listed in this document, it provides for many virtual windows so you can run multiple applications without cluttering up your display.
