Every user's home directory has a limited amount of disk space that it
may occupy. This is called a quota. Most users will never have
a problem by exceeding their quota. You may check to see how much
disk space you are using with the command
joeblow@laser% quota -v
If you find that you are close to your quota, check to see if there
are any files you can delete. The systems staff can also show you how
to compress files so that they take up less space. If you believe you
have a valid need for a larger quota, you may request it from the
systems staff.
