In order to view the processes on the SBC, a terminal window
can be used to attach to the Debug port on the SBC. The hardware
and software is already setup on each of the DAQ computers to do
so. On the PC type DAQ computers this can be done in two ways :
- Use catmaster to activate the SBC Terminal window
- Alternatively, you can open an XTERM on the daq computer and
start the minicom program (just type minicom on the command prompt.
This is defaulted to connect to the SBC Debug port.
In order to quit the Debug terminal window : ctrl-A and then Q. Choose
YES to leave without reset.
On the Sun MicroSystems machine , open an XTERM on the daq computer and use the
tip program to connect to the SBC Debug port. The
command is : tip a. In order to quit from the tip program
hit the tilde (
) key and then type a period (.). This is an
alias to /bin/tip -9600 ttya.
