The Run Control

The Run Control can be activated by clicking on the Run Control. The following series of steps must be performed to start data acquistion using the Run Control. Figure 4.5 shows the RunControl window.

• CONNECT. Click once on the Connect button to connect to the SBC. This may take few moments, please be patient.
• CONFIGURE. Once connected, the Configure button will be available. Click once on this button to configure the SBC into a desired RoC. Select the RunType (test_roc1) and click OK on the pop-up window. Now your SBC is ready to accept instructions as a RoC
• DOWNLOAD. Click this button once to download the CRL codes into the RoC. A successful download is indicated by INFO message in the run control window and is followed by the appearence of the PreStart button.
• PRESTART. Click this button to perform the PreStart transition. Actions outlined in the Prestart transition in the CRL will be performed. A successful PreStart transition will be indicated in the EB window by a message '-Got all fragments of prestart'. The Go button will also appear at the end of a successful PreStart.
• GO. To start data acquistion, click once on the Go button. After a successful Go, the event and data rates are displayed in various fields as well as on a graph. To end the run, press the End key once. To Start the next run, go through the PreStart and Go sequence again.

To gracefully exit from the CODA Master, use the Kill All button, and exit from the Config menu.
